Salt is one of the most common ingredient used it every household and restaurants. There are a wide range of varieties of salts that are found all over the country. As simple as it is it plays a major role in every dish. It takes the dish on a whole new level! Here are a few varieties of salts that are available in different parts of the country:

1: Table salt

This salt is widely used in all the household. It has having high nutritional value as it contains sodium chloride in it. This is also known as refined salt.


2: Sea salt

This salt is made from the sea water and is also widely used everywhere. It provides a strong flavour to the dish and it also considered as one of the healthiest salts due to it's high nutritional value.


3: Black salt

This salt is usually used in making desi masalas and it is roasted to enhance the flavour. It has a lot of sulphur content in it and when added to any dish it gives a rich flavour.


4: Himalayan pink salt

This is also known as the snow salt as it is found in the Himalayan regions. It has a lot of mineral rich content in it and is considered to be very pure. This is also a much healthier option in salts due to it's mineral content.


5: Lunn Rajasthan salt

This salt is found in the deserts of Rajasthan. It is considered to be an organic salt. The unique quality about this salt is that the taste of the salt remains in the mouth for about 10-12 seconds and then the taste disappears.


Tip: We all know that salt is an essential part of our diet but we must remember to consume it in the right quantity as too much of salt can contribute to high blood pressure which may cause heart related problems.
