BATANI USLI(Peas Sabji)


USLI is referred to dry Sabji in Karnataka which is relished with ricešŸš / Rice Bhakri/ Puri /Roti



Ingredients:


1 cup fresh peas

2 tbsp oil

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1 - 2 green chili

A pinch of turmeric powder

A big pinch of hing or asafoetida

1cm length ginger

1 medium size onion šŸ§…

4 - 5 curry leaves

1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

2 tbsp grated coconut šŸ„„

1 tsp lemon šŸ‹ juice

1/2 cup milk šŸ„›

Salt as per your taste


Method:

1. Heat oil in a frying pan and prepare tempering using oil, mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

2. When mustard seed splutters, add in green chili, asafoetida, turmeric powder, curry leaves and chopped onion, ginger. Reduce the flame.

3. Add in peas to the tempering fry for 2 minutes and add the milk šŸ„›, half coconut šŸ„„ grated and let it cook

4. Add in salt and coriander leaves and for 2-3 minutes more .

5. Add in grated coconut and give a quick mix. Switch off the stove.

6. Add lemon juice.
