Italy has been trying hard to lure travellers with their 1 Euro house schemes too. The country is currently going through a massive depopulation and economic crisis, and the government is trying hard to breathe life into areas that have been badly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. This time around, the beautiful region of Calabria in southern Italy is ready to pay you €28,000 (about Rs 24.5 lakhs) to relocate!

The town reportedly has only 2,000 inhabitants currently, hence the need to liven up their sleepy town has never been more important. The gorgeous little village located both by the ocean and the mountains offers a breathtaking view but, of course, with terms and conditions attached.

Regional councilor Gianluca Gallo told CNN, “We're honing the technical details, the exact monthly amount and duration of the funds, and whether to include also slightly larger villages with up to 3,000 residents. We've had so far a huge interest from villages and, hopefully, if this first scheme works, more are likely to follow in coming years.”
