Oggrani Puri

Oggrani puri


Puri is called in South India for Bhel or Murmura. And Oggrani refers to tempering in South India. This is a simple homemade tea time snack and also good to carry when travelling to munch on. It says good for 10-15 days if kept in air tight containers.


Ingredients:

Oil

Mustard

Jeera

Garlic

Groundnut

Onion

Red chilli

Fried gram

Cashew

Copra

Curry leaves

Salt

Lemon

Puri


Method:

Take a big pan and add oil, mustard, jeera and garlic and saute on low flame. When the garlic starts turning slightly brown add the groundnuts and wait for it to crackle and add long chopped onions and wait until it turns brown and crispy. Then add red chillies, fried gram, cashew, copra, curry leaves, salt, lemon juice and finally puri. Mix it well.

Note: The whole thing should be done in a low flame.
